Mission Statement

It is the Altar Guild's responsibility to keep the chancel and its furnishings clean and in good condition and vest the altar according to the requirements of the days and seasons of the church year.  It will also take care of the sacred vessels, linens, and vestments.

The Communion Committee is responsible for set up and clean up of communion ware and refilling between services on communion weekends, filling and lighting candles for all services each week, and cleaning the vestry area and dusting all altar areas and blinds in the worship area.

The Decorations Subcommittee includes the flower coordinator who oversees flowers for weddings, funerals, special services and the regular altar/chancel floral decoration. The subcommittee is in charge of banner construction and seasonal decorations such as the Christmas tree, Easter service decorations, special worship services such as confirmation and Lakeside Sunday and such as Pentecost, Transfiguration, and Reformation Sunday.

The Chancel Subcommittee is responsible for regular laundry of altar linens, sewing and preparing baptismal napkins and maintenance of the paraments.

Quarterly, all guild members are required to help with general cleaning including hymnal cleaning/repair, polishing of brass and silver, polishing all chancel furniture including pictures, flower stands, organ, or any other furniture in the chancel.
