BEFRIEND A MISSION
Befriend a Mission (BAM) is a wonderful program by the Lutheran Women's Missionary Society (LWMS). In this program, missionaries are assigned to an LWMS Circuit for two years. The congregations within this Circuit then support this missionary, and his mission field, through prayers, cards, letters, gifts, etc. St. Paul is a member of the Capitol Circuit of LWMS and recently received their new assignments for 2009 and 2010. These assignments are: Jennifer Lee, Malawi, Africa; Rev. John Hildebrandt, India; Rev. Bill Cornelius, Parachute, CO; and Rev. Bill Werth, Smyrna, TN.
In the past, Mission Society has done much of the work of supporting our missionaries but, ANYONE can participate in this great (and really easy!) program. St. Paul is a member of LWMS which makes any female member of St. Paul a member of LWMS! Do you like to write letters? Do you like to make cards? Would you really like to find out more about missions and ways that you can support them? Being a part of the BAM program is a great way to use your abilities and learn a lot about WELS home and world missions. The BAM coordinator for St. Paul's is Jill Doering. Feel free to contact her (648-3338 or mjdoering@gdinet.com) with any questions or to find out how you can participate! Check out the bulletin board in the church narthex for specific information about the four missionaries that will be supported by St. Paul over the next two years.

There is NO JULY MEETING of the ST. PAUL MISSION SOCIETY.

CAPITOL CIRCUIT LWMS MEETING
Circuit Rallies are semi-annual gatherings where mission-minded women come together to encourage one another in spiritual growth and mission awareness. They are usually held in the spring and the fall. These are a wonderful opportunity to meet or join with women for worship, fellowship, and learning about missions at home and around the world.
There are 60 LWMS circuits and each circuit has the latitude to organize their circuit gatherings as will work best in their area. Some start with a Bible study while others enjoy hearing a mission speaker followed by study of the Word. While a business meeting is essential to conducting the business of the organization, the time is kept to a minimum to allow for more time to focus on mission and spiritual growth.
Watch for upcoming circuit rally details.
The Capitol Circuit LWMS Spring Meeting will be held at Lord of Love, DeForest at 9:00 on Saturday morning, April 17. The speaker is Pastor Andy Fix. The topic is "the details of his congregation's great mission story".

The 47th Annual LWMS Convention is June 24-27, 2010. The Convention is hosted by the Mid-America and Missouri Valley Circuits. at the Millenium Hotel in St. Louis. For more information click on the following LWMS website...
